Robert H. Osher, M.D.


Robert H. Osher, M.D. is Professor of Ophthalmology at the College of Medicine of the University of Cincinnati and Medical Director Emeritus of the Cincinnati Eye Institute. His practice is limited to cataract and implant surgery. He has been listed in the Best Doctors in America since the first edition published in 1992 and was listed in the Top Ten Cataract Surgeons in the United States in a survey conducted by Ophthalmology Times.

Dr. Osher is a graduate of University of Rochester Medical School and served his Residency at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida and has been elected into the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha. He has designed many of the contemporary intraocular lenses and instruments used in cataract surgery. Dr. Osher's surgical videos have won first-prize honors at the American, European, Asian and South American Cataract Societies and he has been awarded the coveted Grand Prize in both the ASCRS and ESCRS International competitions.

Dr. Osher has co-authored five books and numerous manuscripts on cataract and implant surgery and serves as Editor of the Video Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Video Textbook of Viscosurgery and International Advances in Phacoemulsification.
