Steven J. Dell, M.D.

Steven J. Dell, M.D. is recognized as a leader in refractive surgery and cataract surgery. As an award winning lecturer, textbook author and researcher. Dr. Dell has helped develop a variety of new surgical techniques and innovations. His patented surgical instruments and medical devices are currently used by hundreds of surgeons worldwide.

As an investigator for several FDA clinical trials, he has conducted research bringing a number of new advances to the field of ophthalmology including work leading to approval of several ophthalmic lasers, intraocular lenses and pharmaceuticals.

In 2002, Dr. Dell was selected to serve as a member of the Refractive Clinical Committee of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He also serves as a director for several national ophthalmology meetings and courses, and has trained several hundred surgeons in his surgical techniques. He serves on the editorial boards of major industry publications, and is an advisor and consultant to a number of technology companies in the ophthalmic industry.

Dr. Dell is a Venture Partner with Impact Venture Partners, specializing in biotechnology and healthcare related investments. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Dell completed medical school and post doctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by additional residency training in ophthalmology at Tulane University.

Dr. Dell is a founder and director of Refractive and Corneal Surgery at Texan Eye Care in Austin, and founder of Dell Laser Consultants. He holds a faculty position as Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology at Tulane University in New Orleans.
